OEC Member OPENPediatrics named as finalist for Tech Award

Open Education Consortium member OPENPediatrics has been named as on of five finalists in the Education category, and 25 finalists overall, for the 2015 Tech Awards. The Tech Awards are given out annually by the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, California, to recognize projects that address globally significant problems through innovative uses of technology.

The Tech Awards recognize projects and individuals in five categories—Environment, Education, Young Innovator, Health and Economic Development. Five finalists have been named for each category, from which two laureates per category will be announced on September 15th. Previous winners of the Education Tech Award include Sal Khan of Khan Academy and MIT OpenCourseWare.

OPENPediatrics is an online community of pediatric clinicians sharing best practices through resources including videos, medical calculators, and advanced simulators; interactive groups supporting threaded discussion, document exchange and video chat; and structured learning opportunities.  OPENPediatrics is currently used in 126 countries and 880 hospitals worldwide.
