1. Recap of activities from 2014

During the Open Education Global Conference we presented highlights of the Consortium’s work in 2014.  We will go over these highlights again quickly for those who missed it.

2. The Open Portfolio, Susan Huggins, Kaplan University (Presented on June 16)

Offered through Open College at Kaplan University (OC@KU), Open Portfolio provides a single location that allows learners to store, track, and manage open courses through one easy-to-use interface. Additionally, Open Portfolio connects you to the open community by allowing you to share Learning Plans, rate courses, and communicate directly with other registered learners..

3. Global OER Graduate Network (GO-GN), Martin Weller, The Open University UK (OU UK) – (Presented on June 17)

GO-GN (http://oer-unescochair-ounl.ning.com/) is a worldwide network connecting PhD researchers (and their supervisors) in OER, MOOCs, and Opening up Education. Initiated in 2012 at the Open University in the Netherlands (OUNL) under the leadership of Professor Fred Mulder (UNESCO Chair in OER), GO-GN has just been transferred to The Open University UK. Professor Martin Weller, ICDE Chair in OER, has been appointed as the new Academic Coordinator for GO-GN. In this presentation, Professor Weller will introduce the Network, explain the implications of its transfer from OUNL to OUUK and will also outline some of the future plans for the Network.

4. Report out on the OECx Open MOOC pilot

OEC staff will provide a summary of the pilot of our Open MOOC project on the edX platform, including a feedback from our Pilot partner schools on the process, time required and student experience with MOOCs.

5. Open Education Information Center

Take a tour of the Open Education Information Center and find out how you can use the resources, directory and forum.  The OE Information Center is for those new to open education and experienced professionals, and offers a way for you to stay in touch with what’s happening around the world with open education.

6. Open Education Implementation Strategy

The Open Education movement is growing and changing.  A lot has been accomplished since the Cape Town and Paris Declarations were signed.  Is the time right for a global implementation strategy for open education?  Join us for a discussion of the draft document and provide your input.

7. Open Education Global Conference

Recap some of the highlights of the 2015 conference, find out where to access presentations that you missed, and hear about some of the good things in store for 2016’s conference in Krakow, Poland.
