Personal statement

I am currently working as an Open Educational Resources (OER) and Open Educational Practice (OEP) Project Manager for Higher Education Wales (HEW) project working across the HE Sector in Wales. I report directly to the HEW Expert Group although the project is hosted at the Centre for Excellent in Learning and Teaching (CELT) in the University of South Wales. I am based in the Caerleon Campus.

I have 17 years experience of working in Higher Education with a focus on enhancing the Student Experience and have previously undertaken roles such as Head of Student Registry, Head of Admissions (Acting) ,School Registrar and Associate Lecturer all of which have provided a useful background of which to draw upon in my current role. I am in my last year of my MA on Online and Distance Education (Open University) which I hope to complete in September 2014. I am a keen advocate for the use of open educational resources in learning and teaching and am making it my mission to embed and promote open educational practice wherever I go !
