Personal statement

Rita Kop is Dean of the Faculty of Education at Yorkville University in Canada. She was a researcher for the National Research Council of Canada and researched Personal Learning Environments and Massive Open Online Courses. Rita came to Canada from the UK, where she worked as Assistant Professor in Adult Continuing Education at Swansea University.
An advocate for open learning and widening access, she has worked actively with community groups contributing to educational policy and community-based and online services for adults in some of the most deprived areas of the UK. Her research interests are adult education, personalized learning, learning through online networks, learning design, and educational change.
