Established in 1979, Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) is a state university offering internationally recognized undergraduate and graduate degree programs in 10 faculties and 4 schools to around 13.000 students from 68 different countries with 1000 faculty members from 35 countries. English is the medium of instruction and the students are given an opportunity to learn English at EMU English Preparatory School.
Giving importance to research and academic studies, Eastern Mediterranean University has publications in more than one thousand international indexed journals. Numerous international academic and cultural conferences/workshops are organized throughout the year. The University boasts more than 30 research centers and a modern library housing more than 140.000 books and more than 820 periodicals with comfortable study areas and easy on-line access to sources around the world.
