As part of the refined focus of the OCWC, we want to help enable connections and communication between members.  As a step towards that focus, we have created a new email list which will allow members to post announcements to the rest of the membership.  The list is named community [at] ocwconsortium [dot] org.

You can sign up for the list at either your OCWC portal mailing list manager (you must have an account on the portal and be logged in), or by going to the Mailman signup page.  You must pro-actively sign up for this list if you wish to receive these community announcements.  We will not be transferring any other list memberships.  The reason for creating a new list is so list members will have fair warning as to what to expect.

So what can you expect?  Well, the list is primarily meant for announcements from members to other members.  We respectfully ask that this list not be used for discussion which would be more appropriate within a focused committee or working group. On occasion we have members contact us asking for member email addresses (which we do not give out) or else just to communicate to the general membership about something.  This could be something like a survey, a call for papers, other research requests, or just announcements of cool new things you are working on.  In addition, we want to give stronger support to helping you establish connections with each other towards achieving common goals.

Please also note that the list will be moderated, so all messages will require approval before being distributed and you should not have to worry about spam.
