Announcement: ROER4D/GO-GN Research Track during Open Education Global Conference 2015

We are pleased to announce combined ROER4D/GO-GN research track during Open Education Global Conference 2015, which will combine presentations from two international initiatives:

1. Research on Open Educational Resources for Development (ROER4D)

The IRDC, DFID and OSF-funded Research on Open Educational Resources for Development (ROER4D) project aims to provide evidence-based research from a number of countries in South America, Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. The primary objective of the programme is to improve educational policy, practice, and research in developing countries by better understanding ways in which and under what circumstance the adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER) can address the demand for accessible, relevant, high-quality and affordable education in the Global South. It sets out to establish the adoption and impact of OER on the quality and costs of teaching materials, on educators’ pedagogical practices and on learner performance. Further details about ROER4D can be found at: http://roer4d.org/

2. Global Graduate OER Network (GO-GN)

GO-GN is short for Global OER Graduate Network, a worldwide network of PhD researchers and their supervisors in the area of OER, MOOCs and Open Education. It has been initiated in 2012 and is coordinated by the UNESCO Chair in OER at the Open Universiteit in the Netherlands. More information about GO-GN: http://oer-unescochair-ounl.ning.com/go-gn.
