The first convening of the Open Education Latin America (OE LATAM) Regional Node took place February 25 – 26 in San Jose, Costa Rica which included representatives from Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, USA, Uruguay, Guatemala, and Colombia.

The OE LATAM Regional Node is intended to meet the unique needs of open education in the Latin American region. It seeks to open a space for dialogue through which ideas, projects and experiences of the initiatives developed in the region can be shared, as well as identifying challenges, needs and areas of possible collaboration.
