Judith Sebesta

Judith Sebesta, Ph.D., is the founder and principal at Sebesta Education Consulting LLC, assisting higher education institutions, organizations, and agencies with innovation and transformation to support student success. Prior to this she served as founding Vice President, ISKME Labs, was the Executive Director of the Digital Higher Education Consortium of Texas, and she also served in a variety of roles at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, including as Project Director for Open Educational Resources, Director of Innovation, and Program Director for Distance Education. Sebesta serves as the President of the Executive Council for the Community College Consortium for OER and holds a certificate in open licensing from Creative Commons. At DigiTex she led the development of Texas Learn OER, a 2021 OE Award winner. Before shifting her career focus to the broader landscape of policy and practice in open education, innovation, and digital education, Sebesta enjoyed a fifteen-year career as a university professor and administrator.

Texas OER Landscape & Survey Analysis : The recently released report, Advancing an Ecosystem for Open Educational Resources: OER in Texas Higher Education Biennial Report 2021, sheds light on statewide efforts to build OER awareness and uptake across Texas higher education institutions. This report, commissioned by the Digital Higher Education Consortium of Texas, in partnership with the the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and ISKME, builds on data from a 2019 landscape survey and analysis, and offers new insights around the continued growth in commitment to OER that occurred during in the past two years across the state.
