Project showcases provide an overview of approaches, technology, policy, staffing, goals and outcomes of open education projects from around the world. The Awards for Course Excellence provide annual recognition to outstanding contributions to the open education movement. including awards for individuals who have greatly contributed to advancing the ideals of open education and awards for exceptional content, technology and design. A panel of voting members reviews and selects each ACE Award from finalists selected by the awards committee. Individual winners are selected by the board of directors. The awards are announced each year at the Open Education Global Conference.

It has been shown that girls’ education is instrumental to enduring change. However, girls’ access to science, technology, engineering, and math education (STEM) is often inferior to boys in their same schools. Peer and societal pressures do not always support girls achievements in these important subjects. At the same time, jobs in STEM areas are growing, while the preparation for girls and women for these positions is lagging behind.
A collection of user surveys from The OE Consortium, Tufts University, Education-Portal.com, Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV –Online) and Delft University of Technology were consolidated into a user feedback report.
