Personal statement

I have profesional experience in Open Educational Resources in Central America.

I have worked almost 7 years in Open Education Movement in my university.

UNED from Costa Rica is the only university in Central America that has an OpenCourseWare since 2008, and a few days ago ended the participation in an international project named OportUnidad (co-funded and supported by the European Commission under the EuropeAid ALFA III Programme). The objective of this project was to explore the adoption of strategies and channels that embrace the principles of openness and reusability within the context of educational institutions. The project intends to foster the adoption and pilot of open educational practices (OEP), and open educational resources (OER) in Latin America as a bottom-up approach to develop a common Higher Education Area.

Now, I´m working with colleagues from the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico in a new project about cooperation between universities for training and research in the open education movement.
